Join the COSMIC Rays

Over the past several years, Dr Parviz Habibi (AKA Eagle Ray) and Andre Jason (AKA Sting Ray) have completed numerous successful Channel Swim challenges, raising thousands of pounds for COSMIC and the Children’s Intensive Care Unit. This year however Eagle Ray and Sting Ray are looking to mix it up by recruiting members of the COSMIC Rays to complete a six-person relay swim across the Channel which will happen between the 7-14 August. The swim from Dover to France will take 12-15 hours. Each swimmer will take it in turns to do an hour’s stint in the water beside a very experienced support boat, before handing the baton over to the next swimmer.

It is a magical experience for the team to conquer this iconic challenge.

Applicants should be confident swimmers and previous open water experience is desirable but not essential. All swimmers will be trained and coached throughout the whole process by Parviz and Andre who will captain two teams of six each to take on this challenge.

Each potential swimmer will be invited for an informal meeting with Parviz and Andre to discuss the swim, training and fundraising associated with the event.

We are now accepting applications for this very exciting event; if you’re interested in joining the COSMIC Rays or have any questions about the event, please email Fundraising Assistant George Lee at George.Lee@imperial.nhs.uk or call 0203 312 6175.
